On-Site Project Inspections

Areas of inspection include roofing, waterproofing, framing, foundations, drainage, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, swimming pools, interior, flooring, and new and old construction. Topics of inspection include pre-acquisition, actual or potential damages and code compliance. We specialize in complete inspection and analysis of specific or all building components. We also specialize in Territorial Hawaii (pre-1959) building design.

Audio/Visual Documentation

Still 35 mm with enlargements up to 24" x 36", digital photography, digital video, and audio interviews.

Preparation of Written Reports

Includes findings, analysis of problems, discussion of conformance to original designs and/or industry standards, and repair recommendations. Additional topics may include code research, future potential damages, project components, repair costs, and occupant relocation costs.

Intrusive Testing and Product Evaluation Performance Testing

Performance and/or direction of initial testing, with coordination and/or supervision of repairs. Water testing of roofs and decks. Extraction of product samples and performance tests or grading to determine compliance of samples with industry-approved criteria. Availability of building material for repair and/or replacement.

Cost Estimating

Production of construction, repair, replacement and maintenance cost estimates. Recommendations may include computerized spread sheets, graphs, and subcontractor proposals.

Architectural Repair Drawings

Production of repair drawings suitable for the courtroom or to obtain subcontractor proposals, building permits, or construction approval.

Inspection Reports

Includes listing by unit address, complaints, inspection findings, defects, construction phase, building type, repair type, components, and consequential damage.

Computer Services

Services include email and Internet support, software conversion, computer-generated reports, production of relational databases for discovery evidence, dispositions and opponent’s evidence, onsite Internet access including research and documentation.

Graphic Exhibits and Displays

Preparations of large-scale drawings, photographs or full-size construction assembly mock-ups for mediation, courtroom, or investor presentations

Attorney Assistance

Preparation of consultant examination questions, expert team coordination, discovery responses, courtroom strategy, library review of previous depositions and technical issues.

Consultant Services

Pre-inspections of subject properties before opening escrow, remodeling and repair consultation, investment potential reviews, post-purchase inspections for repair compliance, vacant land use and assessments.

Emergency Services

24-hour disaster site reconnaissance and damage assessment.
