Island Inspection Services is your one stop for all your inspection needs. Providing for the needs of our clients is our number one goal, and we do this by offering a wide range of services. Below you will find a list of the extended services we offer.
SERVICES OFFERED
- A law
is currently in process towards banning the use of cesspools in favor of septic
tanks and county-run sewer systems, but many homes still run off a cesspool
system. If you are concerned about the functionality of your system, or if
you wonder if your system is working properly, then an inspection will help
determine your needs and answer your questions.
- Water service
is not available in many areas outside the main towns on the east side of
the Big Island. With rainfall so plentiful in Hawaii, many homes are supplied
by water caught on their roofs and collected in large containers. The water
is then filtered and pumped into the house. In our full-home inspections we
cover only the basic parts of the system. For those interested, we offer a
second more complete report. Here we remove the cover to check the liner and
tank along with both sides of the supply lines, pressure tanks, pumps, filters,
housings, joints and gutter systems of the home.
- Some
homes have had numerous additions and alterations. We evaluate the home visually
and investigate its history and permit availability, and provide you a written
report as well as documentation of the home.
- We work with
attorneys and other professionals who need an expert witness account of your
home during trials or arbitration. We provide both written and verbal testimony
as well as pre- and post-trial consultation. We work with attorneys and other

- We work with local, state and
national loan administrations as well as banks to provide reporting style
and format that is required by such agencies.
- We are not
a surveying company, but we do provide both digital photography and written
assessment of the viability of erecting structures as well as the best use
of land on the Big Island. We focus primarily on locations in the Puna, Volcano,
Hilo and Hamakua districts. Our reports come in a easy-to-read narrative list
format. We also provide information on annual rainfall, weather patterns,
vegetation assessment, and other topics specific to the land in which you
are interested. We will provide digital photographs emailed or sent to you
in disk or CD format in either TIFF or JPEG format. Each picture will correspond
to the report by footnotes. We work with all our clients to help them gain
a better understanding of the property before they make a purchase.
